FASHION MARKETING & MANAGEMENT

At RDI, the School organises overseas field trips to broaden our students' knowledge in the regional business environment. The objectives of the field trip are for the students to learn more about the role of being a buyer, to observe and evaluate how vendors present themselves to potential buyers, to evaluate and pick up tips on visual merchandising, and how to deal with potential customers.

2. Industry Partner - MUJI

RDI has fostered strong industry relationship with several companies and one of them is MUJI. MUJI has offered several platforms for our Fashion Marketing & Management students to understand the operations and marketing aspects of running a successful business. This includes:

3. CATALOG Magazine

Our students were tasked to be Fashion Journalists for CATALOG magazine and to make recommendations for the up-and-coming fashion trends for their readers. The students contributed a 8-pages spread in the previous issue and it gave them a taste of what it is like to be a successful Fashion Journalist!

4.  FashBash 2007

Besides developing business proposals, the Fashion Marketing students put their proposals to a test by participating in FashBash 2007. This experience served as a "reality check" on their feasibility of the business models and for them to understand the competitiveness of the industry. Such experiences will be invaluable for them and will also prepare them for their future careers.
